Limb Anomaly?

Sometimes we forget that Parker has a limb anomaly.  And I think he forgets, too...or just doesn't know. :)

Eleven months after Parker's stay in the NICU, where we told to contact the Limb Deficiency program when he is pulling to stand, we finally have an appointment to go see the team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in a few weeks. (note: being a music therapist and having always used person-first language, I am not thrilled with the name of this program...will have to mention that to someone on the team at some point).

Anyways, we are a little apprehensive because we really do not know what to expect as far as treatment goes for Parker in the future.  But, we also know that he was born this way as opposed to losing part of his foot in an accident or something, so we do believe that he will adjust and learn to walk exactly the way that he needs to - because he doesn't know anything different!

And while I am giving the Parks update, we have an x-ray for his spine this coming Monday, and will get the results right afterwards at an appointment with his neurosurgeon.  Again, a little nervous but hopeful he is still doing well!

If you think of us, we could use a prayer or 2 during the next few weeks!  And after this round of appointments is finished, it will be .... time for their 1st birthday! :)

Look how far this little guy has come! From the NICU...

 to just being BIG!! :)

11 months old. What?!

Yup, We.Are.Big.
Crawling everywhere, pulling to stand, cruising/bouncing/jumping in bed, eating everything in sight, and holding hands while we eat...which makes mommy's heart melt!!
One month until our big b-day bash!

I mean, so cute, huh??

Love these kids!

Hey mom!!

Can't wait to go outside after the pollen washes away!

From Parks

This is Parker here.  I wanted to give you an update on the fam.  Since our last post, the following events have occurred:

1. On February 24th, our new friend Rylan Adams was born!  Congrats to our mom and dad's friends, Kristen and Shaun!  We can't wait to play with him and cause all sorts of trouble! (and, Rylan, congrats on pulling a good one on your parents - coming a month early!)

2. On February 26th, dad turned 29!  Mom asked him if he felt old, and he said, "Yes, but I think that has to do more with the past 11 months than it has to do with turning 29."  Which is weird, because we were born 11 months ago...

3. And then, we all got sick for about a week and a half. :/  It started with mom - she had a sinus infection, double ear infection and bronchitis, and then we both got sick and dad got sick, too.  Moses didn't, though.

4. Our Gramps & Grandma Even and Aunt Erica came up for the weekend to play with us!  Mom and dad said they came to see them and celebrate dad and gramps' birthday, too, but we think it was mostly to see us and spoil us rotten.  After all, isn't that why everyone comes over?  We went out to lunch at the train station, went to the park, went to Chick-Fil-A and Babies R Us (me and all of the girls), and played a whole lot!

5.  Mom has been busy planning our first birthday party!  That's right, we are turning 1 on April 22nd.  Not sure of all of the details yet, but she keeps talking about bunnies and other related things...

6.  Reagan cut her first tooth and that has been a big hubbub around here.  No, I still don't have any, but I am holding out for a really special day.

7.  We are both crawling so well now that mom and dad decided to put up gates.  I really don't know why they are necessary, we only have 3 stairwells in our house.

8.  We have been having trouble sticking to our schedule since this past Sunday.  Mom keeps talking about some "Daylight Savings Time" and blaming it on that, but Reagan and I put our heads together last week and decided it was time to give mom a run for her money.  If only she knew...

That's all for now!
And remember everybody: I'm just happy to be here! :)
