Two Turn One.

It was a big day.  Heck, it was a big weekend!  Parker and Reagan turned ONE last Sunday, April 22nd.  Any child's first birthday is a big deal - a celebration of their life as well as a celebration that their parents made it through the hardest year of being parents.  And we don't feel like we had the hardest year in existence compared to other families out there, but we can say that it was a challenging year in any one's book!  The best and quickest way to review our year would be in numbers (after all, Chris loves numbers).

1 - the number of minutes between the twins' births.
2 - the number of babies we have!
2.5 - the number of weeks Parker was in the Egleston NICU.
3 - the number of weeks I was on bed rest before having P & R.
4 - the number of months that Parker had a colostomy and the number of surgeries that our little Parks' had in 2011.
4.5 - the number of months that my selfless mother lived with us and helped us.
5 - the approximate number of pounds Reagan was when she came home with us.
6 - the amount of toes that Parker has. :)
7 (+29) - the amount of diapers we went through in a day during the first two months of P & R's lives.
8 - the minimum number of bottles made per day during the ages of 3 months - 6 months.
9 - the number of people in both of our immediate families who have been rock stars throughout P & R's first year.
10 - the amount of toes that Reagan has. :)

We threw the twins' their bunny themed party on their actual birthday, and we had a blast celebrating with our friends and family.  Here are some shots of the decorations, food, etc:

Homemade strawberry cupcakes with buttercream icing and fondant toppers from Etsy!
More cupcakes with Peeps as toppers.

Flower centerpiece on the drinks table.
Bunny decorations from Target.
Party favor buckets, each complete with: Reese's Pieces carrots, carrot bubbles,
bunny-shaped marshmallows and bouncy balls.

Dry erase board welcoming our guests!

And here are some shots of the birthday babies!

Both of our families (we missed you, Brian!!) came up for the weekend to help us with the party and to celebrate with us.  We went out to lunch, made cupcakes, and played until we couldn't play any more!  We know we will have fond memories of their 1st birthday for years to come!

Happy Birthday, Parker & Reagan - we love you more than words can express!!

Easter Sunday!

We basically had an awesome day.  Started the morning by giving the babies their Easter pails which were full of goodies from us, their aunts and uncles and both sets of grandparents.  Then we had breakfast and went to church with our friends, the Abrahams.  This was the first time the babies were in the nursery at church, so it was a big day for all of us!  They did really well and Chris and I made it through, too. {actually, Chris was in more of a hurry to get them from the nursery after church than I was!}
Digging into their Easter pails.

Parker's loot!
Reagan's loot!

Reagan wasted no time digging into the goodies!
Checking out each other's pails.

A cupcake!!

After church, we fed the babies their lunch and put them down for a long Easter nap.  Some friends in our neighborhood came over for Easter dinner, and we all ate and played {and watched the Master's} until our hearts were content.

Here they are in their church clothes.

sharing. :)

Reagan waited for the perfect opportunity to sneak into Parker's pail...

...and found a book!
Playing with their friend, Harrison!
Parker had a LOT of fun in the nursery at church ... at least, that is the only reason we can conclude for his hair being a mess and his clothes hanging off of him. :)

One more picture with Harrison. :)
Happy Easter!  CHRIST HAS RISEN!!

Our 2nd Easter before our 1st Birthday!

Thaaaaat's right, we get 2 Easters before we are even 1 year old!!  We were born on Good Friday last year - April 22, 2011 - and Easter was on Sunday, April 24th.  Well, this year Easter came a little earlier and will be on Sunday, April 8th!  So, before we turn 1 we get to celebrate Christ's Resurrection twice!!  How cool is that?!

Our mom & dad don't remember last year's Easter all that well ... at just 2 days old, I was snuggled in my mom's arms and Parker was in the NICU at Egleston Children's Hospital recovering from surgery.  We missed him so much.  Mom & Dad and all of the rest of our families talked about Parker a lot that day...and every now and then someone would say, "Oh, that's right - it is Easter Sunday!"  Needless to say, we think that this Easter will be a little more relaxed!

Here are some pictures from our bunny hat photo shoot with Aunt Selena when we were about 7 weeks old!

...And look how big we are now!!

Mom keeps telling us that we are good at making messes...
Just making sure everything was just right for the pictures.

Parker asked me to brush my hair before we got started with the photo shoot...

Parker was excited about the pictures!
I had so much fun with these silly little eggs!

Mom.  There is something on the blanket.
Is there anything in here?

Can you tell that we are teething?

Aunt Selena & Uncle Brian got us the CUTEST Easter pails for our birthday gifts!!
And, they sent them early so we could enjoy them on Easter!

Peace out, everyone, and HAPPY EASTER!!
{Love, Reags}
